so yeah, i just put my stones away and washed my hands thoroughly

on lunch i’ll be going down to home depot, see if i can get a home lead testing kit to check out my stones and find out for sure if they’re contaminated

i’m kind of in shock that i never heard about this issue before today
yunzi stones are still widely sold and really popular

Can you please explain? I have a very nice but old Go set from like 2000. Are you saying the stones might be made of toxic materials?

what MoM said

the chance is there if they’re yunzi stones. regular melamine or glass or plastic stones won’t have lead

Idk what a yunzi stone is. These are the stones I have

Hold the black stone up to the light. Let the light pass through it. Is it slightly green? Then it might be yunzi.

If you’re not sure then get a lead test kit like this and test a few stones, even if they’re not yunzi.

No, the black stones are completely 100% opaque. No light shines through them
